Veth took on the name Nott The Brave, no comma, once she was transformed into a goblin. She was bounced around to odd jobs within the goblin clan, but was eventually forced to be the assistant to the torturer. Veth was drowned as punishment and she awoke as a goblin herself. During the escape attempt Veth killed the leader of the goblin clan before being recaptured. Veth and her family were kidnapped by goblins, but Veth distracted their captors in order for her son and husband to escape. Nott The Brave has an especially interesting backstory, originally a halfling named Veth Bernatto with a husband (Yeza) and son (Luc). The Mighty Nein Origins: Nott The Brave will include art by William Kirkby ( Rat Queens) and colors by Mildred Louis ( Agents of the Realm).

Each member of the Mighty Nein has a fascinating backstory with quite a bit of mystery still surrounding each of their pasts. The Mighty Nein Origins explore the backstory of each member of Critical Role’s Campaign 2 adventuring party before they came together as the Mighty Nein. But Vox Machina aren’t the only adventurers whose pasts Critters will get to explore. Critical Role continues to flesh out their characters with comic books, graphic novels, and even an upcoming novel. The adventures of Vox Machina that took place before the Critical Role stream are explored in Vox Machina Origins beginning with how the team came together.
